Great Leaders

As you look back over your life, have you ever noticed that you performed better under different leaders? Think about the various different teachers, coaches, and bosses and pinpoint by whom you were most motivated.

Nothing about you changed except for your motivation. Something in you was inspired (by them) to bring out the best version of you. Do you ever look back and think “What was it?” Did they have more belief in you? Did they care about you? Did they have your back? Take a minute to name the person(s) and how they made you feel. Do NOT skip this step.

Now think about yourself as a leader, whether that be in your home or at work. How do you want your people to feel? What do you want them to know? And what do you want them to see? Great leaders are really hard to find—they joyfully get the most out of people and they are remembered forever. Do you need to up your game? Great leaders aren’t born, they are made! There’s still time.

With Gratitude,
Beth

P.S. I must thank Mrs. Sartoris, Miss Foster, and my dad. They were the 3 who got the most out of me as a student, an athlete, and a person.
