Friday Quote

“Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.”  Thomas A. Edison

Last Saturday we visited our daughter at James Madison University and attended the football game: JMU versus Elon University and JMU was a 39.5 point favorite. Previously, JMU had averaged 43 points against their opponents mere 8. This was a David and Goliath match-up for sure—or was it?

Elon ended up winning the game 27-24. Ok, David, how’d that happen? I’m sure many things contributed to this upset, but belief had to be part of it. Belief waxes and wanes like the moon. The score stayed tight in this match-up which I imagine played a key role in Elon continuing to believe bringing down Goliath was still possible.

If belief allows David to beat Goliath & Elon to beat JMU, what does that mean for me and you? To have a stronger belief in ourselves, we need to revisit the times we were amazing! Take a trip down memory lane and really live in those moments again. Remember when you were a rock star? You were on fire! We give up because we forget how awesome we are. The success you are looking for is right around the corner but you have to believe first! Ask Elon, anything is possible. Anything!!

With Gratitude,
Beth
