“It doesn’t really matter if you have a closet full of expensive and beautiful things; they will never be able to cover up an ugly heart.” 

I have to believe that no one actually feels as though they are the ones with the ugly heart, but if no one is the one with the ugly heart then how can we all agree with the quote? Someone has to be dishing out “ugly.”

Ok, I’ll start with me and my ugly heart. I can be pretty “ugly” when I believe strongly that I am right. I am also “ugly” when I judge others. I get “ugly” when things aren’t going the way I had planned. And I am definitely “ugly” when I am tired and my patience has worn thin.

I have to own up to the truth behind this quote – which I made up, by the way – because it definitely applies to me. Do you ever find yourself with an “ugly heart?” I look at my closet a little bit differently now. Remember this quote when you reach for your very best suit or dress, it can only cover up so much.
