Friday’s Quote

“Your perception of me is a reflection of you; my reaction to you is an awareness of me.” ~ Unknown.

Did you know your brain takes 13 milliseconds to process the input it receives? In that moment, your brain connects the input you are experiencing with all of the memories you have ever had in order to classify what is around you as good/bad, safe/unsafe, friend/foe. It also uses whatever current emotions are going on within your life as another form of filter—are you feeling frustrated, angry, annoyed, rejected, loved, etc.?

The world will always be a reflection of everything you are going through at any given moment. That’s why when we are in love we see the world very differently than when we are coming from a darker space. This distortion is why we mirror ourselves onto the lives of those around us. We assume we are experiencing life the same as everyone else but we are definitely not.

When you become aware that your brain creates your world you can truly be free of your distorted version of reality and begin to live life in a whole new light. Who is annoying or frustrating you? Now think about what is going on in your own life and how that could distort your view of this person. Remember, the world is not always as it appears.

Happy Friday!
Beth
