Friday’s Quote

“If you are not consciously directing your life, you will lose your footing and circumstances will decide for you.” – Michael Bernard Beckwith

I’m beyond passionate about finding people’s passion and purpose, but sometimes I have the great fortune of seeing it already in action and that’s what happened last night.

I was at a wine and chocolate pairing event hosted by Westminster Wealth Management and run by Tom Sciascia the owner of Sciascia Confections. Tom told the story of his thriving graphic design company that dried up when we all experienced the devastation of 9/11. He went back to his Italian roots and “the riches of simple and fresh homemade food and its ability to bring such incredible happiness.” As I listened to him tell his story and I sampled his amazing chocolates and macarons, I was immediately drawn into his heartfelt passion. The joy radiated out to all of us.

We live our best life when we are “consciously directing” it. I am consciously directing now but it wasn’t long ago that circumstances were deciding for me. Our best life is the one we choose, so ask yourself “Am I consciously directing or are circumstances deciding for me?” Your answer might surprise you.

With Gratitude,
Beth
P.S. If you need a gift for someone, I highly recommend sending something from Sciascia: https://sciasciaconfections.com/chocolate-truffles/
