Motivational Monday!

2020 is barreling toward us whether we like it or not. In 16 days the New Year will arrive. Yes, it’s that time of year again. New Year’s resolutions are on the horizon and we have to begin thinking about getting in shape, losing weight, earning more money, getting a new job, etc.

What do you want to happen in 2020? What do you want to be different? This shouldn’t be a stressful thought, just an honest one. Have you tried to accomplish this goal before? If so, how many times has this been your New Year’s resolution? Why is this resolution so difficult to conquer? Why are you trying to tackle it year in and year out with no success?

Chances are, if you’re like me, you keep choosing the same approach. We say things like, “This year will be different. I’m in a better place. I can do it this time.” The truth is failure is likely to happen again this year if we don’t choose a different way. We need to accept the fact that our way stinks. It hasn’t worked in the past, so why are we trying it again? The missing piece to this puzzle is accountability. If we can give up on our resolution without someone saying, “WHAT? No way! Not on my watch,” then we need to rethink our plan. Adding accountability locks our escape route. Sorry. It had to be done. Success awaits!

With Gratitude,
Beth
