Friday’s Quote

“When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, ‘I used everything you gave me’.” Erma Bombeck

Last night, Doug and I were inspired as we watched a virtual event for UrbanPromise International. Dr. Main told the story of a homeless boy from Malawi who miraculously turned his life around, against all odds. He earned both a college degree as well as a masters degree in the U.S., then returned to Malawi to help children just like him do the same. He’s definitely using all of his talent.

What about you and me? Are we using all of our talent? If we are using all of our talent, who are we using it for? Are we serving others or just ourselves? What is your superpower? How are you using it? Simon Sinek said it best, “If you want to feel happy, do something for yourself. If you want to feel fulfilled, do something for someone else.”

It’s the holiday season and perhaps you’re buried in work, or decorating, or shopping—it’s a really busy time of the year, I know. Maybe we should all hit the pause button for a moment and ask ourselves three things: 1. What are my greatest blessings? 2. What am I most grateful for right now? 3. Who would benefit from my help during the holiday season? Don’t waste your talent—use everything you have been given!

Let’s GO! WE GOT THIS!
