Motivational Monday!

Yesterday, at our Fitzgerald family Father’s Day party, my brother-in-law was wearing a World’s Greatest Dad T-shirt. I’m sure you’ve seen this in some form or another like a baseball cap or a coffee mug. This familiar logo always makes me laugh because during a moment with a friend who saw “World’s Greatest Dad” on a baseball cap on our barista said, “I’ve always wanted my hat to say, “Definitely in the top 30% Dad.” I laughed out loud!

This shirt made me think. Of all the people who own any of the “World’s Greatest” paraphernalia, how many of them believe it? Or how many of them are actively striving for it, trying to win the contest? To be The World’s Greatest, surely we’d have to want it, train for it, improve every single day, right? Not to add any additional pressure, but this would also mean that people were watching and judging.

Today, without any pressure, I’d like us all to ask ourselves, “If I could be The World’s Greatest Dad/Coach/Employee/Trader/Surgeon/Sister/Mom/etc…, how would I do things differently? To be the greatest, we’d have to pick areas in which we know we could do better, and asking the questions gives us some ideas. In the world of self-improvement, it’s always a good question to ask.

Let’s GO! WE GOT THIS!
