The Penthouse Lady

Yesterday’s post was about two roads diverged and I asked the question, “What determines the trajectory of our life? How did we end up here and could we have ended up someplace better? Or some place worse? It was the little toddlers walking with their fellow campers holding tightly onto a walking rope that reminded me at one point in time we were all essentially the same.

At one point all toddlers will believe they can do and be ANYTHING—but in time that will change. They will start to hear from teachers, coaches, parents, bosses, etc. about what they are good at and what they aren’t good at. They will look at their grades and decide, for some, mistakenly, that they are or are not smart enough. And through some belief, right or wrong, they will choose their path.

How does someone become “the penthouse lady?” Belief. How does someone become the delivery truck driver? Belief. Who and what we become is largely an internal mind-thing. Look at anyone you know (including yourself) and visualize this person at the next level. Is it difficult to see? Probably not. But it’s the belief in oneself, or lack thereof, that’s the impetus. We want to blame it on lack of privilege, lack of money, lack of opportunity, etc., but we need to point the finger back at ourselves and say, “Actually, it’s my lack of belief!”

Let’s GO! WE GOT THIS!
