Does the Outcome Matter?

“Be brave enough to start a conversation that matters.” Unknown

Did you know that this is the #1 reason why difficult conversations don’t happen? We avoid these awkward, upsetting, agonizing, unpleasant, and unenjoyable conversations like the plague—but to what end? Does the conversation matter? Does the person matter? And maybe most importantly, does the outcome matter to both of you?

“Your success is based on how many uncomfortable conversations you’re willing to have.” ~ Tim Ferris

Imagine what would happen if we were all brave enough to have the difficult conversations that matter to us. I look back over my life and career and I can think of a number of times that I should have had a difficult conversation, but it was “easier” to choose to avoid it. Easier for sure, but not better. I wonder what would have changed if I had actually been brave enough to have it?

“Sometimes the most important conversations are the most difficult to engage in.” ~ Jeanne Phillips

I have also been brave enough to have these uncomfortable conversations, but I’ve chosen brutal honesty and I now know that approach isn’t good either—it’s hurtful and breeds resistance and resentment. So if you’re free TODAY at 5pm EST, please join me for my FREE webinar on how to handle difficult conversations. You must register (see the link below) or you won’t receive the Zoom link. It will be 45 minutes well spent, I promise!
