1000 Piece Puzzle

While we were visiting the fabulously festive Bryant Park this weekend, we purchased a puzzle. I was very excited last night when my daughter asked if we could spend the night doing it. Our M.O. is usually to buy a puzzle, put the puzzle away, and never see the puzzle again. This time was different.

As we laid out all the pieces, which was exactly 1000, I thought of you and me. This puzzle is a metaphor for life, right? Unfortunately, we don’t have the luxury of seeing the finished picture on the box to work from. That would make life so much easier! Nope, we have to make this puzzle, we call life, by trial and error. You remember the trial and error portion of a puzzle, don’t you? It’s frustrating, but there’s no better feeling than when we actually find two pieces that fit together. The puzzle starts to take form!

If you’re feeling like your life is a little bit like a very unfinished puzzle, fear not! The beauty of any puzzle is the joy of problem solving. Don’t walk away from the “puzzle,” please! Grab a friend, puzzles are always better when we do them together—they somehow seem less challenging and we feel like we aren’t alone. And when you have completed a puzzle, do you remember how proud you felt? EXACTLY! That’s what we are shooting for!

Let’s GO! WE GOT THIS!
