Friday’s Quote

“Turn your face toward the sun and the shadows fall behind you.” ~ Maori Proverb

It’s Friday morning and the weekend is almost here. For some of us, there is a lot to do before we can fully enjoy the weekend. For others, the weekend might not look very enticing right now—perhaps the tasks that lay before us are far from exciting. And for some lucky chaps, the weekend might already be here, so good for you!

Regardless of which category you fall into, I’d like us all to turn toward the sun right now—figuratively of course, but literally if that avails itself to you. Turning toward the sun is to look exclusively at every positive thing in our life right now, which will intentionally leave all of the negative things behind us in the shadows. What is truly good in your life right now?

It’s a choice we can make every day. Do you want to choose the sun or the shadows? What are you spending your day talking about, the sun or the shadows? What is your mind perseverating on, the sun or the shadows? We will always have both, so let’s take the advice of our Maorian neighbors and face ourselves squarely toward the sun today. Choose the sun. Life is good, so let’s embrace it daily! Live life facing the sun! It’s our choice, so choose wisely!

With Gratitude,

Beth
