To write about confidence is one thing, but to actually see it materialize before your eyes is something magical. Last night I watched a few episodes of Queer Eye, the very popular Netflix original series. In their week-long transformation of people, it’s amazing to see how their confidence skyrockets with just a few little changes.

In one particular episode, a young woman was struggling to fit in. Karamo said to her “You are a strong, black, beautiful, lesbian woman.” He goes on to explain, regardless of what people think or say, you need to own who you are. When we own who we are—by creating our own sentence of identity—we eliminate the struggle. We have defined ourselves.

What is your sentence? How would you define you? Confidence is inside you right now like a seed waiting to be planted, fed, and nurtured. And it grows when we say “Yes” to exactly who we are not who we think the world wants us to be. I am not perfect; I have many flaws but that’s what makes me ME! Confidence is all about loving yourself – as is! Perfectly imperfect is perfect!
