Friday’s Quote

“To trust God in the light is nothing, but to trust him in the dark—that is faith.” ~ C.H. Spurgeon

Today is Good Friday, for all the Christians around the globe who observe, as we head into Easter weekend. Regardless of your religious affiliation and in light of all that has gone on over the past few months, I believe faith is exactly what we should be focused on right now.

Faith can be viewed in two ways: faith in God or faith in self, and right now – both matter. The opposite of faith has to be fear and worry, neither of which will serve us well in the midst of this global crisis. As a matter of fact, most of us are feeling scared, anxious, and unsure of our future so the question remains – can faith change that?

Well, here is the truth: worry can’t change it. Fear won’t change it either. Neither will anxiety or insecurity. Ruminating in these negative emotions is like a car stuck in the mud; we can rev the engine all we want but the wheels will just keep spinning, often times sinking us deeper into the hole. Choosing faith is choosing hope. Bob Proctor said, “Faith and fear both demand you believe in something you cannot see, You choose!” So it’s our choice: faith or worry, but we can’t do both.

With Gratitude,
Beth
