Friday’s Quote

“If you think you are too small to make a difference, try sleeping with a mosquito.” ~ Dalai Lama

We both know where the Dalai Lama is headed with this quote but I want to talk about the mosquito for a second. Have you ever thought that maybe you and I are the mosquito? Nobody wants to be the mosquito, but unfortunately sometimes that’s exactly who we are.

We have been in lockdown for far too long now and there is no way we are not the mosquito in some way. I will speak for myself when I say that quarantine has definitely put undo stress on all the relationships in our house, including me and Doug. Not every day is a Brady Bunch episode.

So back to the Dalai Lama’s true point. We can all make a difference inside and outside our home with the smallest of gestures. We can be the mosquito, which is annoying, or something far more loving and kind. Every day is a new day. Every day gets a reset—especially in quarantine. What if today was “Perform 10 acts of kindness day?” Do you think that would make a difference? I do. Intention is everything. Challenge accepted?

With Gratitude,
Beth
