Motivational Monday!

Do you use reminders – things that will trigger your memory so that you don’t forget to do something? I certainly do. Sometimes I use Post-its or I set alarms on my phone – anything that will prompt me to remember to act.

I have read a number of stories about people who have done the same thing to jog their memories although their thing was more poignant than “pick up dry cleaning.” These people carried around pennies, rocks, and buckets as a reminder that, on a daily basis, they wanted to be a better person. Pennies were carried and doled out as compliments and praise were authentically delivered. Rocks were carried to remember that as long as forgiveness was withheld, the burden was still being carried by them. And the bucket was carried as a reminder to fill his life with patience, of which he had very little.

Think about your life for a second. What reminder do you need to be a better person? Don’t ask yourself, it’s more important to ask those closest to you. What are they witnessing daily? Are you impatient or carrying a large burden? Are you on-edge or judgmental? Maybe you need to carry some pennies, a rock, or a bucket? I know I do. I’m going to start with the rock although the bucket might make me improve faster!

With Gratitude,
Beth
