Motivational Monday!

Motivational Monday!

It’s July 13th. We passed the half-way mark of 2020 and we entered the 5th month of the pandemic. It’s summer, I guess, although it doesn’t really feel like it. It’s been hard to settle into this new normal as I feel like most of us are hopeful in our anticipation of the old normal somehow returning. But there is one thing you may be feeling, unintentionally of course, and that’s complacency.

Complacency is the ugly residual that very often settles in after a crisis. It’s almost like a much-needed exhale after an exhausting run. It’s origin innocently begins as a brief stoppage, simply to catch our breath, but often times results in us getting quite comfortable in our routine—perhaps because we don’t have the energy to go back to our previous level of intensity.

Today is simply a day to check in with yourself. Has life become one big routine? Are you finding ways to challenge yourself? Are you continuing to learn? Are you feeling stuck or stagnant? Are you still striving to do your best? Are you actively looking for new opportunities? These questions will help stir the pot of inspiration. And while you’re stirring, pick a goal, something juicy you can go after. Chasing a goal is a great way to snap out of complacency. In the end, it’s all about choices.

With Gratitude,
Beth
