The Devil You Know…

Why don’t people do what’s good for them? I struggle with this question all the time. I believe people are motivated to do what is good for them, but then they don’t. UGH!! WHY???

It appears to be as simple as a cost-benefit analysis but one that has gone terribly awry. Our mind can sometimes be a tricky thing. We know we need the change. We know the benefits far outweigh the costs. Yet we don’t make the change! While we continue to believe the classic adage: The devil you know is better than the devil you don’t know, that is not necessarily true nor particularly helpful.

Here is the sad truth: “Better safe than sorry” is killing us. This mindset has us fearful to make a move and it’s handcuffing us to a life we don’t want. Very few of us can get out of this black hole without help. Get a coach or a mentor. You KNOW what is good for you, now all you need to do is EXECUTE the plan! Come on! Let’s go. We got this!

With Gratitude,
Beth
