Your Way

Have you ever said, “Ok, we’v tried it your way, now let’s try mine“? Of course you have. I know for me, when I utter those words, it’s because I am more than a little frustrated. And I’m frustrated because whatever we are trying to do is simply not working.

So what, in your life, is not working? By “not working” I mean it’s not where you want it to be, it’s not going as planned, and it’s definitely a source of frustration and maybe even angst. Is it work? finances? health? relationships? family? And if I am guessing correctly, it has been a source of frustration for a while now? I guessed correctly, didn’t I?

So let’s go back to how I started this post: Ok, we’v tried it your way, now let’s try mine. Your way clearly isn’t working. You’ve tried it, maybe even repeatedly, but it’s not changing anything. If nothing is changing then it’s highly likely it never will, so let’s try mine. What is “mine?” “Mine” can literally mean mine, which means you are about to embrace the world of coaching OR “hire” your own coach. That “coach” might be a close friend whom you trust to help you think of a better way—and you should listen to them. The truth is this: if your way isn’t working, it’s time to find a new way. Banging your head against a wall will only give you a headache and nothing more.

With Gratitude,
Beth
