Motivational Monday!

Sometimes 2+2=6 and no, it’s not “new math.” Take copper – its hardness on the Mohs scale is a 3. Tin, on the other hand, has a hardness of 1.5. Both are considered very soft. But if you mix them together they become bronze which is a 6 on the Mohs scale – much harder than either copper or tin by themselves.

Bronze’s hardness revolutionized toolmaking and pulled us out of the Stone Age but how does this apply to you (and me)? Well, who should you be collaborating with? Who do you need to combine your talents with to become far stronger together than you are separate? 2+2 can equal 6, but only if you mix them together!

I learned this first-hand yesterday when I teamed up with my sister-in-law. Prior to yesterday, I stubbornly wanted no help on a project. My heels were dug in pretty deep. A funny thing happens when you dig your heels in – you don’t move at all. So fully exasperated, I reached out for help! WOW – I certainly wish I had done that sooner! We had fun, we got a lot accomplished, and yes 2+2 can equal 6! Thank you, Maureen.

Hiring a coach is absolutely a 2+2=6 equation.

With Gratitude,
Beth
