Every year for the past 6 years or so, at Christmas time, I purchase a new set of clean perfumes. For a while I purchased from EDEN Perfumes that we stumbled upon while we were walking down Portobello Road in Knotting Hill. But this year, I heard about Dossier, so I decided to give them a try.

As I scrolled through their web pages, I found their “About” section. They boldly state “What We Stand For,” and that is, “a force for good.” OK, we are off to a good start! They go on to list their 4 pillars: Transparency, Craftsmanship, You Are Enough, and Perfume For All. Although I read them all, “You Are Enough,” captured my attention most. This is what they wrote: 

“In an industry that notoriously feeds on insecurities and profits from making us feel like we lack something only they can supply, we won’t dictate trends or tell you which scents are best for you. Try the scents that ignite your senses and make your own rules.”

WOW! I was moved by all of their pillars, but “You Are Enough” should be a part of what we all stand for in 2023. Can we make You Are Enough a personal pillar, if there even is such a thing? I, personally, don’t need any marketing strategy to make me feel worse about myself—I seem to be able to do that on my own. I AM enough! You ARE Enough! And now, Dossier can make a smell good, too! Let’s make 2023 an “I am enough—and then some—kind of year. What do you think? Are you in? Let’s make our own rules!
