“There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure.” ~ Colin Powell

The other day I heard a news report that the crown of the Statue of Liberty was now open again for access. Apparently it had been closed since Covid. Instantly, I thought, “I’d like to “walk” to the top of the Statue of Liberty!” Here is what I found out: Accessing the crown requires ascending 20 flights of stairs (357 steps) in a narrow, spiral staircase. ‘Ok,’ I thought, ‘I think I can do that.’

Since there’s no space within this narrow staircase to “pull over” and rest, I thought, I had better prepare. So yesterday I started my prep work by climbing the stairs in my 12 story building. I did it twice and survived—LOL. I’m going to keep doing it until I go in April (reservations are required for this access and April was the first opening). I want to get to the crown, but I also want to prepare for the journey.

Let’s take a look at Powell’s advice again: preparation, hard work, and learning from failure. What do you want in Q1 of 2023 that can absolutely happen for you because of those three actions? Don’t gloss over this question; really choose something. I just chose something, too. 2023 isn’t going to be great by us reading all these posts, we are going to have to ACT!

Let’s GO! WE GOT THIS!
