Friday’s Quote

“No one would have crossed the ocean if he could have gotten off the ship in the storm.”
– Charles Kettering

I woke up this morning to a message sent from a very dear friend and it was a quote about storms, which I am sharing with you below. As I was reading the quote, it was storming outside my window, so I decided perhaps today is the day that we discuss storms!

“Storms draw something out of us that calm seas don’t.” – Unknown

The beauty of storms is that they come and go. Some stay longer than others, but they never stay forever, thank goodness. By definition, storms are disturbances in the atmosphere that bring sever weather—there’s a really good metaphor right there, but I’ll leave it alone. Rainstorms, in particular, are beneficial because they bring some much needed rainfall. Storms have both good and bad associated with them.

“Not all storms come to disrupt your life; some come to clear your path.” – Unknown

Maybe you are in a personal storm right now, and for that, I am so sorry. Weathering a storm can be challenging, but maybe our defining it together might help. What if this storm has come to clear a path for you to experience something better? This storm is drawing something out in you that would have otherwise remained latent. And if you live in America, you wouldn’t be living here if a number of brave souls hadn’t stayed on the boat during many storms crossing the Atlantic. And you’re just like them, btw, although you will discover something entirely different, and it’s probably about you. Don’t hate the storm, it’s making you better.
