The Ted Lasso Effect

Last night, Doug and I finally watched the last episode of Ted Lasso. We were both so sad to see it come to an end, it was such a fabulous show. What I loved about the show was Ted’s child-like innocence about life. He always saw the best in everyone—even Nate! And there was always a lesson to walk away with from every episode. It was your classic feel-good show, and in 2023, feel-good is exactly what we all need. Ted was the modern day Mr. Rogers.

I was more sad than usual to see this particular show end because it was way more than T.V. entertainment for me, I felt this show in my heart. He reminded us of so many wonderful things, like success is not about the wins or losses—it’s about being the best version of yourself, and doing the right thing is never the wrong thing, and the happiest animal on Earth is a goldfish, it has a 10-second memory, so be a goldfish. Good stuff.

If you haven’t ever watched Ted Lasso, then insert Mr. Rogers. They both did the right thing—always. Doing the right thing isn’t always easy, and actually, it’s often painfully difficult, especially when we are dealing with people. Ted reminds me to be a better person with statements like, “Be curious, not judgmental,” and don’t even get me started on forgiveness! So today, channel your inner Ted Lasso on any challenge you’re facing. What would Ted do? And if you haven’t watched it yet, then just be nice.

Let’s GO! WE GOT THIS!
