Discover vs Create

Have you ever thought about the two words “discover” versus “create” as they relate to you and me? Have you ever thought about who you want to be at home or at work? Are you allowing yourself to simply discover what unfolds as you go through life’s experiences, or are you actively engaged in creating the person you want to become?

Discover versus create. At first glance, there doesn’t seem to be anything wrong with discovering how we choose to lead or parent or simply grow, but it’s a reactive approach. Creating, on the other hand, is proactive, it’s intentional, and it’s thought-filled.

Today, let’s take a look at just one of our characteristics that might fall under, “not so proud of that one.” Is it impatience, anger, negativity, lack of confidence, stubborn, tough (aka mean), poor listener, competitive, arrogance, etc? Did we discover this or create it? Our answer matters. And even if we did discover it, we can create something else. If we want to be the best version of ourselves, we need to begin creating that person and stop discovering her. Remember, we want to be proactive, intentional, and thought-filled.

Let’s GO! WE GOT THIS!
