The Four F’s

Last night Drew Brees, the New Orleans Saints quarterback became the NFL’s all-time leading passer, surpassing Peyton Manning and claiming the top spot for most passing yards in the NFL’s 99-year history.

What caught my attention though was not this big headline but hearing another story about Brees a week prior: he coaches flag football for his 3 boys. What? I was shocked he had the time. I remember saying to myself “That’s really cool.” How does someone that busy and famous have time to coach flag football? One word: Priorities.

Brees has his priorities laid out so much so they even have a name: The four F’s. The four priorities in Brees’ life are faith, family, football, and philanthropy. We all have priorities in life, right? But do we have them spelled out like Brees? Do we truly structure our daily lives to reflect our priorities? Having priorities and living them are two different things. Might be worth a revisit today. And, Congratulations  Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints-well done!

With Gratitude,
Beth
