True North

Last night I watched, “Untold: Operation Flagrant Foul,” the Netflix documentary about former NBA referee Tim Donaghy. This is the story about the federal investigation into the 2007 gambling scandal that nearly brought down the NBA, calling its integrity into question. By the end of the documentary, I wasn’t not sure if anyone was telling the truth.

All the main characters in the story, including the NBA, were driven to do what they did for one thing—money. The catchphrase, “follow the money,” is as true for All The Presidents Men where it became popular, as it is for us. Money isn’t bad. Money can do amazing things, but it can also change the way we view things and people.

Today’s post isn’t even about money, it’s about integrity. It’s a check-in on who we are and what we stand for. Are we tolerating anything that we shouldn’t be tolerating? Are we overlooking unacceptable behavior? Did we turn a cheek when maybe we shouldn’t have? I know integrity matters to you or you wouldn’t read this post every day. Integrity and our moral compass needs a check-in, just like everything else. Today is simply to make sure you and I are exactly where we want to be—true north.

Let’s GO! WE GOT THIS!
