Face Your Fears

My eldest daughter is a big fan of SoulCycle. I had never been, but had heard a lot about it. When my daughter arrived home from grad school this December she exclaimed, “We have to go!” Although I immediately responded, “Yes!”, everything in my body said, “No. What are you thinking? You haven’t worked out like that in over a year. You’re in over your head girlfriend! Don’t do it.”

So my daughter booked the class and bought 5 seats for our family on the morning of Christmas Eve. With complete trepidation, I entered SoulCycle Hoboken. No surprise, I was the oldest one there, by a long shot. The room was dark and filled with bikes. As my fear level was reaching its peak, the instructor walked in, the loud music got turned up, and the class began. I stood up, started pedaling, and hoped for the best! It ended up being AMAZING!

Why does it matter that I was afraid of SoulCycle? Facing our fears is what 2023 has to be about. If not now, when? SoulCycle Hoboken was never going to come to me—ever! My daughter unknowingly pushed me and now I have 3 classes under my belt. It’s a lot of fun and it’s a great workout! Who is unknowingly “pushing” you? I hope one of those pushers is me by reading my posts every day. But you can have many pushers in your life, and if you never say, ‘Yes,” it simply won’t matter. So here’s to “Yes,” in 2023!

Let’s GO! WE GOT THIS!
