Welcome, Welcome!

Yesterday we talked about, “Anything is possible,” which it is. I hope you gave some thought to what you’d like to be possible in your life. I specifically asked, “What would you want to welcome into your world?” And I chose the word “welcome,” and did not chose the word, “want,” for a reason and I’d like to share why.

We might not like to think about how important our word choices are, but this is a great example of why it is so. When we want something, it’s something we don’t already have, right? Therefore, “wanting” has an innate sense of lack and possibly scarcity. If we decide to choose the word “welcome” instead, lack is not implied in any way. There’s also no scarcity. “Welcome,” is most often used to describe how we open our homes to others. The definition of “welcome” is “to accept with pleasure the occurrence or presence of.” Doesn’t to “welcome” sound more fitting than to “want?”

Back to “Anything is possible!” What would you like to welcome into your home and your life? Is it money, a new job, a relationship, good health, or more? When we welcome, there is no resistance. We’ve made the choice to open the door and receive. Yet, to want something now has a feeling that we are not in control and it may or may not happen. It comes with a certain amount of angst. So let’s start welcoming that which we truly want to see enter our lives. GO! Open the door!

Let’s GO! WE GOT THIS!
