Either Way Will Do

The other day, Doug and I were headed down the NJ Turnpike to visit his mom. Shortly after entering the Turnpike, we were given a choice: Car Lane or Car & Truck Lane. Intuitively, I always want to take the Car Lane, thinking it will be less chaotic, but there’s no basis for that assumption. The only thing I can be certain of in the Car Lane is no trucks, everything else is up for grabs.

If you’ve ever travelled on the NJ Turnpike you know this is a decision you HAVE TO make. If you have Waze, it might help you make this decision, but regardless, the decision must be made. As the driver, we can’t see the whole road when we make this decision. We might be right or we might be wrong as to which is the best route to take. But what we don’t do, none of us, is stop the car, and remain paralyzed in fear that we will make the wrong decision. At some point our brain says, “Just pick one! It doesn’t matter, you’ll still get there, it may just take longer!” That’s a BRILLIANT lesson for all of us!

Have you “stopped the car,” in your life, due to paralyzing fear over how to move forward? I know you have, because I have! We all have. Today I want all of us to look at where, in our lives, we have stopped the car (maybe even put it in park). Why? Why did we do that? It was the fear of making a wrong decision, right? But think about the Turnpike for a minute—what did our brain say? “Just pick one! It doesn’t matter, you’ll still get there, it may just take longer!” Ahh, does it make sense now? It’s the action, right or wrong, that gets us closer. Will you be brave enough to act? I can help you.

Let’s GO! WE GOT THIS!

P.S. Almost every day someone reaches out to me and expresses how much they loved a particular post. I get a lot of, “I needed that, thank you!” I know many of you share the ones you love, but will you consider inviting your friends and family to sign up. It matters what we read every day. I would love to broaden my reach so I can help more people on a daily basis with these very simply 2-minute reads. Thank you so much! ~ Have them send me an email, that’s the easiest way for them to sign up.
